Athletics Association of Ireland
2003 Irish World Cross Country Team Selections

Athletics Ireland is pleased to announce the following teams for the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland in two weeks time.

The women's team is led by 1988 Olympian Anne Keenan-Buckley, who has been named for her twelfth World Cross Country Championships and is now only one short of the record of thirteen set by Dubliner Deirdre Nagle in the seventies and eighties.

She is joined by the in-form Maria McCambridge who missed out on a place in the 3,000m final at the weekends World Indoor Championships by one place both of who formed part of the bronze medal winning team from the Championships in Ireland at Leopardstown 12 months ago.

The men's team is led by Robert Connolly who was an impressive victor at the Rás na hÉireann International in Dunleer at the weekend ahead of Belfast man Dermot Donnelly.
