INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS/RESULTS
The 1999 World T&F Championships will be Peter's second appearance in this competition having competed in Athens in 1997, where he was eliminated in the first round. In the 1998 European T&F Championships in Budapest the Dubliner finished 20th overall. Peter represented Ireland in the 1999 World Indoor T&F Championships in Japan over the 60m Hurdles finishing 11th. Earlier this summer he finished 4th in a photo-finish in the World Student Games in Mallorca, Spain.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS/RESULTS
Peter is the current BLE National Record holder in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 13.30secs. He set a new BLE National Championship Best of 13.50 on his way to winning the recent 1999 TNT BLE Senior110m Hurdles title. This is the third time he picked up gold in the event adding to the 1998 and 1996 titles. The Crusaders man has the full set of National medals having won silver in 1995 and bronze in 1993.

1999 FORM
Based in Atlanta, USA, Peter has developed into a world class sprint hurdler in 1999. He has run sub 13.50 for 110m hurdles on six occasions, culminating in breaking his own National Record with a 13.30 clocking in Hechtel, Holland. Early season run of 13.96 in Martinque, 13.82 in Georgia and 13.64 in the Orange & Purple Invitational brought him to the Europa Cup where he clocked a new National Record of 13.47. He finished 4th in the World Student Games in Mallorca with a 13.45 (+2.5) in the heats, and a legal 13.63 in the final. The Yale graduate went on to win in the IAAF Permit Meet in Budapest in 13.59, and set a new Championship Best Performance of 13.50 in the National Championships. Peter followed his 13.35 National Record set in Crete, with a 13.38 time in the Barcelona IAAF Permit Meet. He then lowered the National Record for the fourth time to 13.30 to win the 110m hurdles in the IAAF Permit Meet in Hechtel, Holland.
