Mark Kenneally was the first Raheny man to win the Raheny 5 in last year's race becoming the first hometown winner of the men's race in its 18-year history. Kenneally successfully defended his title crossing the line in 24:14, well clear of runner-up Clonliffe's Nigel Brunton (24:59). Irish International and Providence College graduate Maria McCambridge (Dundrum South Dublin) won the women's title covering the 5-mile course in 26:36, eight ticks away from the course record. The Raheny 5 Course Records are for the lads, Gerry Curtis (Donore Harriers) running 22:39 in 1987 with the women's record held by Teresa Duffy (Beechmount Harriers AC) 26:28 set in the 1994 race. | Mark Kenneally ![]() |
