Keith Kelly (Drogheda, Co Louth) showed he will be a force at the upcoming Irish Intercounties race in Mullingar on 30th November. Kelly, a 2001 Providence college graduate ran away with the USATF New England Cross Country Championship title held at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts on 9th November. Kelly ran 29.06.2 on the 10k course and was more than a minute clear of is nearest rival, Adam Sutton (Preston, England), a 2003 PC alum who too the runner-up spot in 30.14.8. Iona College grad Vinny Mulvey placed 9th in 31.04.6 showing he is on the road to recovery in only his second cross country race in two years. In the women's race, Yale graduate Kate O'Neill continued her winning ways edging Villanova grad Ann McGranahan. O'Neill covered the 6-kilometre course in 20.10.8 with McGranahan in 20.12.1. Irish runners took 3 of the top 10 spots led by recent Providence College graduate Róisín McGettigan (6th, 21.04.4), Orla O'Mahoney (9th, 21.13.9) and Stephanie O'Reilly a 2001 PC grad in 10th with a time of 21.16.2. O'Mahoney helped her Boston Athletic Association win the team title as she was second runner for the club. |

Also in action in America was Breeda Dennehy-Willis (Bandon, Co Cork) who ran 34.41 to place 7th in the Food World Senior Bowl Charity Run 10-kilomete road race held in Mobile, Alabama on 8th November. |
