Natalie Davey, age 29, from Charlestown, Co. Mayo, Ireland who currently lives in Boulder, Colorado placed third in the 26th Annual Lilac Bloomsday Run held on 5th May in Spokane, Washington on 5th May. Davey covered the 12 kilometre (7.46 miles) rolling course in 40.24.
Davey a graduated of Providence College is finishing up her nursing degree and will no doubt find good use for the US $3,000 she earned for her effort. Colleen DeReuck now running for the US via South Africa won the race in a course record 38.53. DeReuck won the bronze medal in the women's long course event at the World Cross Country Championships held in Dublin in March.
