Nicola Coffey photo Nicola Coffey (Ardbraccan, Co. Navan) was named East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Field Performer of the Week for events through April 2, 2001. Coffey is the first St. John's University athlete to be honoured this season. Coffey (Kells Community) received this honour for her performances at the Army Invitational last weekend. In the hammer throw, Coffey finished first with a mark of 52.94m. This mark earned Coffey to right to participate in both the ECAC and Big East championships. Coffey's most recent hammer mark is not her personal best (56.92m), but still ranks among the top 10 performances all-time for an SJU student-athlete. In the shot put event, Coffey took home fifth place. A 12.07m throw qualified Coffey for the Big East championships in the shot put. This mark also ranks Coffey among the best throwers all-time at St. John's.
