Ireland's leading ten-mile road race, the Nike Ballycotton '10' has at last been re-scheduled for June 24th. The first choice of the organisers was June 10th but it was not available. The promoters have given considerable thought to numerous dates for the race, but, for one reason or another, their new date is deemed the one that least affects other competitions. The popular race is normally held in early March. This year's competition set for March 11th had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of foot-and -mouth disease. Ballycotton will be monitoring the foot-and-mouth situation and will only allow the race to go ahead if there are no further problems in that area.
Complete details can be found at the: Ballycotton Running Webpage The 10-mile Charity Walk will take place as usual the previous day (Saturday June 23rd) at 2pm.
