Paul Brizzel (Ballymena & Antrim) placed 2nd in the 100m to Jamaican Dwight Thomas who ran 10.23 equaling the Irish All-Comers Record held by Matthew Quinn (South Africa) set in Santry on 29th July 2000. Brizzel's brilliant 10.35 (+1.4) performance matched his Irish National Record set in Haapsalu, Estonia on 20th June 2000. Another notable achievement was James Nolan's (University College Dublin) victory in the Morton Memorial Mile in 3.57.70 over Kenyan David Kiplak who crossed the next in 3:58.99. On the women's side, Kelly McNeice (Lisburn AC) moved up to #2 on the 2003 list in the 800m behind Freda Davoren (2.03.25) when she ran 2:03.41 to place 3rd in a race won by Olga Raspopova (Russia) in 2:00.93. Eileen O'Keeffe (Kilkenny City Harriers) won the Hammer throwing 62.74m to beat Mia Stommer (Finland) who threw 60.99m for second. On 3rd August, O'Keeffe broke the National Senior Hammer Record again with a throw of 63.25m at the Mazda League. This broke her mark of 61.46m set in Lappeenranta, Finland on 22nd June 2003.
