Anne Keenan-Buckley and Séamus Power
Strong Performances at Stormont

Anne Keenan-Buckley and Séamus Power continue to narrow the gap between themselves and the elite Kenyans as they showed at the IAAF Cross Challenge held at the Stormont Castle Estate in Belfast, North Ireland on 19th January. Power took the early lead until the last lap when a trio of Kenyans comprised of Julius Kibet, Daniel Gachara and Joel Sataiti pulled away with a powerful move. Kibet won in 25.06 with Power placing fourth for the second year in a row.

Keenan-Buckley used a similar strategy battling Kenyan Esther Kiplagat and Colleen DeReuck who now competes for America after changing allegiance from South Africa. Keenan Buckley placed third covering the 4,800m course in 17.33. Rosemary Ryan (Bilboa AC) placed fourth in 17.40.
