Colin Costello continued his fine form this indoor season winning the 1,500-metre event in a hand-timed 4.01.3. Earlier in the season, Costello, only 16 years of age, won the English 3A U-20 1,500m in Birmingham in mid-January in 3.53.33. Costello is from Gormanstown, Co Meath. Joanne Cuddihy (University College Dublin), a veteran of the World Junior Championships easily won the 200m (25.28) and her specialty the 400 metres in 57.94.
