Competing for Crusaders AC, Peter Coghlan won the 110m-hurdle event (13.52, +0.8) at the European Champion Clubs Cup - Group B held in Lisbon, Portugal on 25th May. Crusaders AC placed sixth in the meet with 69 points. Eugene O'Neill placed second in the 3,000m steeplechase in 9.02.63. Peter Madsen placed second in the 3,000m (8.19.04) and ran 3.49.30 to place third in the 1,500m. Brian Kelly placed second in the discus (50.16m) and threw 16.84 for fourth place in the shot putt. Kevin Jefferson placed third in the 100m in 10.71 (+0.3). Ronan Kane placed fourth in high jump (1.95m) and seventh in the javelin with a throw of 46.25m. Steve Fleming placed 5th in long jump with a leap of 7.25m and seventh in the triple jump in 13.86m. Aidan O'Callaghan placed sixth in the 5,000m running 15.32.45. Rob Michael placed sixth in the 800 metres running 1.57.56. Mark Hicky ran 60.88 to place 7th in the 400m hurdles. Hugo Leeny placed seventh in the 400m metres in 51.01. Eoghan O'Dwyer placed seventh in the hammer with a throw of 40.45m. Ruairi O'Brian placed seventh in the pole vault in 4.20m. Crusaders AC ran 41.86 for second place in the 400m relay and placed sixth in the 1,600m relay in 3.23.30.
