Duffy and Crossan Win Irish Marathon Titles
Carroll and O'Reilly Win 5k in Providence

A pair of Scottish runners took the titles at the Belfast City Marathon, which also served as the Marathon Championships of Ireland held on 6th May.

First across the line was Simon Price (2.22.21) for the men and Trudi Thomson (2.49.39) getting the ladies victory.

The Irish Champions were Gary Crossan (2.24.19) and Teresa Duffy (2.50.33). Cathal O'Connell from Cork was the next Irish finisher placing fifth in 2.26.25. Lucy Brennan (2.52.49) and Olivia Nolan (2.59.00) from Sligo placed third and fourth respectively for Irish women.

Rosemary Ryan (Bilboa AC) placed seventh (33.56) in the Brittanic Asset Management Women's 10-K held in Glasgow, Scotland on 19th May. Lornah Kiplagat, (Kenya) won the race in 31.14.

A pair of Irish runner Providence College graduates won the Sergeant Steve Shaw Memorial 5-kilometre Road Race held in Providence, Rhode Island on 19th May. Corkman Mark Carroll (Leevale) won the men's race in 14.32 while Stephanie O'Reilly from Wicklow won the women's race in 17.07. Francine Darroch from Canada was third in 17.34.
