Thomas Chamney (University of Notre Dame) just missed on improving on his 800m time placing second at the Alex Wilson Invitational on 3rd March in South Bend, Indiana. Chamney, who competes for Crusaders AC in Ireland, was narrowly beaten by Clay Ragan (University of North Carolina) by a .02 crossing the line in 1.48.98. Chamney, 21, will most likely qualify for the next weekend's NCAA Championship. With most of this weekend's results posted, he is currently ranked 14th on the NCAA 800m performance list with his 1.48.62 run on 4th February at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame. Butler University's Ava Hutchinson (Dundrum South Dublin) also competed at Notre Dame running 5.09.50 in the mile for 22nd place. |
