Paul McKee (Beechmount Harriers) ran 46.21, a seasonal best in the 400 metres to place second at the European Athletics Promotion Atletissima meeting in Namur, Belgium on 29th June. McKee, 28, is the Irish Outdoor record holder with his 45.58 set on 14th July 2002 in Dublin. In the same race, David McCarthy (Le Cheile) also ran a seasonal best of 47.23 to place fifth with UCC's Brian Murphy placing sixth in 48.06. Darragh Graham (Slí Chúlainn AC) ran a pair of personal bests in the 100m (10.71, +1.3) and 200m (21.38, +1.5) events. Graham, 22, placed second in the Heat 2 of the 100-metre event with his PB and went on to place seventh in the final in 10.77 (+0.6). Graham's new 200m PB placed him sixth in Heat 1 of the 200m behind Paul Brizzel (Ballymena & Antrim) who was second in 21.05 (+1.5). On the women's side, Anna Boyle (Ballymena & Antrim) ran a personal best in the 200 meters placing second in 23.75 (+0.5). Boyle, 23, also placed second in Heat 1 of the 100 metes in 11.52 (+2.1). In the same races, young sprint starlet from North Down, Amy Foster, only 17, placed fourth in 100m (11.96) and sixth in the 200m in 24.50. Elaine McCaffrey placed sixth in the 400m in 55.16 which is a seasonal best. McCaffrey, 21, from Abbey AC has a PB of 55.02 set at last year's Dublin International on 30th July.
