Damien Bateman Runs 5,000m Personal Best 15.09.93 at Mt SAC Relays

Damien Bateman, who competes for McNeese State, was disqualified in the 5,000m for 'Pacing & Impediment' at the Southland Conference Championships held in Arlington, Texas on 15th May.

Bateman, from Mullingar ran a personal best 1,500m at the RunSport Rice Twilight meeting held at Rice University in Houston, Texas on 29th April. Bateman ran 3.53.03 to place third improving on previous best of 3.55.20.

Bateman, an honour roll student in Engineering, ran 4.02.36 to place 48th in the 1,500-metre event at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational held in Claremont, California on 18th April.

On 13th April, Bateman, a senior, ran a personal best time of 15.09.93 in the 5,000 metres to place eighth in his section at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays in Walnut, California.

Bateman ran the second leg of 4 x 1,500m Relay for McNeese helping them to a fourth place finish at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin on 7th April.

The Cowboys ran 16.31.55 behind winner Arkansas which ran 15.32.41 led off by fellow Irishman Colin Costello.

Bateman did-not-finish the 5,000 metres at the at the Louisiana State University Tiger Relays on 23rd March.

Bateman opened his 2006 outdoor season placing second in the 1,500m with a time of 4.00.3 (hand-timed) at the Louisiana-Lafayette Classics meeting held in Lafayette, Louisiana on 18th March.
