David Gillick ran 46.29 to place sixth in Heat 1 of the 400-metre event at the Gran Premio Internacional Atletismo held in Salamanca, Spain on 5th July. Gillick, 23, ran a new personal best of 45.80 at the AtletiCAGenève in Geneva, Switzerland on 11th June. It eclipsed his previous best of 45.80 set in Torino in June 2005.

Just two days after her 2006 season debut at Cork City Sports where she equaled her National Record of 12.96 (+1.6) in the 100m hurdles, Derval O'Rourke ran a windy (+2.3) 13.02 to place fifth at the Athens IAAF Super Grand Prix in Athens, Greece on 3rd July.

UCD's James Nolan placed 11th in a seasonal best time of 3.37.96. Nolan, 29, has a PB of 3.35.69 set in Heusden on 2nd August 2003.

Róisín McGettigan (Slí Chúlainn AC) placed 12th in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 9.55.22. McGettigan, 25, holds the Irish record of 9.45.60 set in Hedusen on 31st July 2004.
