Largest Contingent Ever at European Indoor Championships

Athletics Ireland are pleased to announce that a further five athletes have been added to the team for the forthcoming European Indoor Championships in Madrid, Spain on 4th - 6th March making it the largest Irish team ever for these Championships.

Leading the team of new announcements is 2000 European Champion Mark Carroll who will join World Number one Alistair Cragg in the 3000m.

The 1998 World Youth 100m/200m Champion Emily Maher has been rewarded by her welcome recent return to top class form by gaining selection along-side Ailis McSweeney in the 60m.

UCD Olympian James Nolan (1500m) and Crusaders' Peter Coghlan (60m hurdles) have been given an extension to gain the necessary standards while Gary Ryan (200m) and Adrian O'Dwyer (HJ) both made themselves unavailable for selection.
