James Nolans Breaks IMC 800m Record

James Nolan (UCD) put in a scintillating performance tonight to break his own Irish Milers Club 800m Record and in the process beat Daniel Caulfield (DCH) in a thrilling race at the Irish Milers Club 800m Race in Santry on 30th July.

The quick pace earned Nolan and Caulfield time bonuses of 500 Euro between them. Clonmel's Thomas Chamney paced a blistering 51-second first lap. Going into the final lap Nolan and Caulfiield were well ahead of the chasing pack. After that an enthralling struggle took place with Nolan edging ahead up the final straight. Eoin Cummins (Crusaders) after encountering traffic problems, finished strongly to take third in 1.50.84 while Thomas Quaid (North Cork) ran on well to take fourth in 1.52.76.

Thanks to IMC's Pauls Cummins for this report.
